Our Demo.

The demo turned out great, but i wish we could have gotten the box to smash. We shared the work 50/50 in a sense. His ideas just flowed into my work. I haven't really looked at anybodys demos, but I will in near time. My game has had technical difficulties and might not make the deadline of the end of the semester.

My break post!

My favorite online game is Runescape. Its a MMORPG that you just build your levels up to do multiple new things within the game. My game is like a complete reverse of Runescape. I didn't really play many games over break. A lot more eating than playing.

What I did today!?! 10-30-10

What I did today? I looked over adding scenes to my first scene. Nothing to difficult. Then I updated my learning log and came to blog about it. I was supposed to be working on drawing my first scene but I already have that done. That is what I did today.

A new concept that I have learned?!?

I have learned that drawing a game is a lot more complicated than what i thought it would be. Tracing our idea wasn't how we thought it was going to be. Drawing a cartoon boat is harder than it should be. The title and water was the easy part. Now I know how to trace an idea so all my pictures will be easier to draw.

What am I most excited about making our game?!?

I am excited about making a game that I like. There are tons of games out there that I really like, but I can also be over critical about the way the game looks, sounds, or how the story line goes. If I make the game, then i won't have to worry about how the story line goes. I would've made the game how I like it. This means all the sounds and graphics of the game will be exactly how my partner and I want them.

Imagining my Game!!!

Well I'm very excited to make our RPG/ Adventure game. It is going to test the players wits in uderstanding multiplication through something most game players love. The era of the knights and dragons. You will start as a lowly village person and grow to be a strong dragon slayer.

I can be successful in Globaloria if I learn the basics of making a game. The basics help teach us what we need to make a game work. The three steps to be successful are to work hard, learn from my mistakes, and ask for help where it is needed. You need to work hard to learn. If you don't learn from your mistakes, then you aren't going to be successful. Then when you need help, try asking for help. Other people may get what you're supposed to be doing better than you.

I made my first game and this is what I think!

Hey!!! Making a game is a lot harder than i expected. It takes a lot more patience and soon enough I would get angry with fixing glitches. I play games all the time and never thought of how hard moving these characters in certain ways really was. I have a lot more respect for the game programmers now that I had to deal with these minor game glitches.

My choice of a game genre!

Strategy would be my genre choice. It is one of the harder game choices, because you always have to think of your next move. You sometimes have time to set up a strategy or defence and other times you have to act while the game is going on. Strategy games is, in my opinion, the best type of genre you can have for a game.

Globaloria Class Start!!!!

OK! My listings will be simple. Green Letters will be about Runescape! Ok?!? My game in Globaloria needs to be educational I guess, so my first game will hopefully be about a first person shooter useing numbers, sentence structure, or something of that nature. I will try to keep updated on my blog about how far my game has progressed and hopefully be done with it within the first 2 months of this class.
